T-shirt for charity rowing event

Postby psmears » Sat Mar 22, 2014 8:09 pm

Hi,

I've been meaning to share this for ages: a photo of the shirt I made when C rowed in the Boston Rowing Marathon, raising funds for KEEN London, a charity for children with special needs. The logo was produced with the help of svg2embr on a Janome MC300E (the text beneath it is just the machine's built-in font):

The shirts were very well received :-)

Looks great!

It would be fun to se a closeup of how you filled the letters. Which technique did you use to get the filling?

Hi there! I used a modified version of the "netting" plugin mentioned on your page: I modified it so that it automatically adds stitches at regular intervals along the path, so you don't have to do the "Add Nodes" step. It's not great, but it saved a little bit of time - there was a *lot* of hand-tweaking afterwards! I want to write a plug-in that will do the netting more automatically, and nicer (for example, getting the alignment of the stitches to follow the curve better), but I haven't got anything useful working yet :-)
